The emerging regulatory technology (or RegTech) industry is transforming the regulatory reporting process that financial institutions rely on. Like any major technological innovation, there are a number of challenges that need to be overcome in order for RegTech solutions to offer the maximum return for industries. Consistent data standards, interoperable technologies, compliance costs, and workforce alignment are among these challenges that slow the rate of progress down as financial institutions and regulatory bodies work together. While federal financial regulators have begun replacing document-based filings with data, more can be done.
On Tuesday, April 23, the Data Coalition will host its annual RegTech Data Summit in New York City, presented by Donnelley Financial Solutions (DFIN). The Summit will bring together Members of Congress, financial regulators, industry leaders, RegTech experts, academia, and open data advocates as they discuss the latest innovations and what the future will hold for RegTech.
